This chapter reviews related research and technology in 3D UML visualisation and the use of 3D for software visualisation in areas directly related to this thesis. The papers presented in this review purposely exclude other areas of 3D information visualisation, as the information is too broad and generic to be applied at this early stage of the exploration into the use of 3D for UML.
